Hi, I am Vicki the creator of W.I.N.E. Adventure Group.
I have started this group to connect a group of active like minded women over 40 who want to meet and do new and adventurous things. The aim is to build a supportive community of mature aged women who come together and share their passion and enjoyment of the great outdoors while enjoying a glass of wine and making new friends. Adventures will not only include walks or hikes, but fun things like ropes courses, horse riding, abseiling, rock climbing or mountain biking in the You Yangs. Just because you haven’t done it before, doesn’t mean you can’t do it. This group is about trying new things and I admit I will be the first person to be challenged. But I will try my best and give it a go. I will do all the hard work for you , all you have to do is turn up.
I am a Registered nurse and have also worked for 16 years in our family business but as my kids are older and self sufficient the time is right for me to start building my own dreams. I enjoy hiking and have done the Kokoda track, The Overland Track, Wilsons Prom, Hotham to Falls and The Great Ocean Walk. I was booked to go on a Trek in Nepal but Covid happened. This year I am booked in to do The Grampians Peaks Trail in full and Larapinta Trail in the Northern Territory. Over the years I have Bungee jumped, done White Water rafting and jumped out of a perfectly good plane. I also enjoy camping and caravanning with family and friends.
The name W.I.N.E. Adventure Group means Women Into Nature and Exercising and straight away I loved it. It also reminds me of one of my other favourite past times, enjoying a glass of wine. Unfortunately, I cannot take credit for the name as it was suggested to me by a work colleague’s husband and he has given me permission to use it.
